Buccaneer Bash is a school event that takes place on campus and includes activities that help promote the school and all that it offers to the students and community.  The activities are designed to inform high school students, parents and friends about the university.  The activities include representation from all the majors that are offered.  There is also a chance for the prospective students to interact with current students to learn more about campus life and the opportunities at ETSU.  Some of the activities will provide free health information, such as blood pressure, glucose levels, oxygen levels, etc.  There is an Open House that provides opportunities for personal conversations with department faculty members from various academic departments across campus, representatives from housing, financial aid, scholarships and admissions.  Campus tours are given and families may visit the residence halls. 

 

I participated at the Respiratory Therapy Booth.  My classmates and I took turns at providing information about the Cardiopulmonary Science program to the future students of ETSU.  We also did a demonstration for them, we checked their blood-oxygen level and their heart rate.  I learned, durnig my experience, a little about what it is going to be like when I get to start clinicals next semester.  Being able to work with people and share with them things I have learned was a great opportunity for me.
